\"IMG_2787\"<\/a>\"IMG_2797\"<\/a>We took a long bus ride from the northern end of Vancouver Island down to the southern tip at Victoria. This 9 hour trip took us from cool, damp, gray northern isolation to hot, crowded, beautiful Victoria, BC. We met Laura for lunch and a quick museum jaunt and then she went to prepare for her upcoming concert at the Royal Theater. We wandered a bit and then met Tom and Robin and Doug and Kari for dinner and the evening concert.<\/p>\n

The Royal Theater is a 100 year old opera house which was sold out and filled to its capacity of 1600 people. The show started and the three singer-songwriters did a magnificent job of presenting their new music (album: case\/lang\/veirs<\/a>) interspersed with songs written earlier by each of the three. kd is very, very popular in Canada and many in the audience knew some of her songs. And Niko is famous also. The audience seemed to love all the music and instantly stood as one to give them one and then another and then a third standing ovation.<\/p>\n
