Day 3: Candlestick Camp to Labyrinth Camp
This was a shorter day as we rode from Candlestick (a total of 16 miles) to a camp called Labyrinth, a name given by John Wesley Powell in his float down this section of the Green River. The day began with a wonderful sunrise (Red sky in morning, Bikers take warning). This day was cooler as we had broken clouds which produced beautiful shadows and shafts of light to the near and distant landscapes accompanied by a refreshing breeze.
At dinner all ten of us piled into Bill’s camper and Shane served us dinner while we all sat compressed together while rain bucketed down on the aluminum roof. By the time we had finished eating and laughing, the rain had stopped and allowed us to wander into our tents for the upcoming night.
